Charity inundated with adoption enquiries for orphaned Vizsla puppies

Enquiries to adopt 10 orphaned Vizsla puppies have been put on hold after a animal rescue charity was inundated with people looking to help.

Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue took the puppies in when they were less than a day old, after their mother died shortly after giving birth.

The puppies had been living with foster families for several weeks, until the puppies were finally old enough for the rescue centre to start its search for potential forever homes for the young dogs.

The charity announced it had begun the application process on Saturday (April 11) but was quickly inundated by potential families.

In total, 135 application were received by 4.30pm on Saturday, and the charity said it will be considering all applications carefully and thoroughly.

Any other applications made after the 4.30pm deadline have received a voicemail response.

On Monday (April 13) the dogs received their first vaccinations and were implanted with their microchips at Brookfield Vets in Herefordshire.

Each dog was weighed, with the heaviest, Cedar, coming in at 5.2 kilogrammes, while Purdey was the smallest, or the ‘runt’, at 3.8 kilogrammes.
