JD Wetherspoon is set to open six new pubs in the coming months.
The pub chain already has more than 800 venues scattered across the UK.
Wetherspoon has opened several new pubs in 2026, including in Cornwall, Bath, and Blackpool.
These come after the company opened its first overseas venue last year at the Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport.

Now, Wetherspoon has confirmed the location of its next six pubs.
One will be located inside Barcelona Airport (opening in February 2027), while the other five will be opening in the UK:

Wetherspoons introduces new bans at all UK pubs
Meanwhile, Wetherspoon has announced that customers can no longer wear Meta Glasses (or any other smart glasses) at any of its UK pubs.
The devices, which can record video, photos and audio, have raised privacy concerns due to their ability to film without drawing attention.
The Wetherspoon ban follows growing reports of people secretly recording strangers and sharing footage online.
A JD Wetherspoon spokesperson, explaining the ban, said: “Like many hospitality companies, Wetherspoon has CCTV cameras for security reasons, but their use is strictly controlled by data legislation.
“Apart from that, the general code that applies in our pubs, and most pubs, is that you can’t film customers or employees without their permission.
“Meta glasses seem to breach this code, and common sense, by enabling surreptitious surveillance, so our instinct is to say turn off the cameras.
“This is akin to our efforts to stop audible playing of videos in our pubs, which also invades people’s space.”
Meta reassured people that their glasses have a light that turns on to let people know when a photo or video is being taken.

A spokesperson for the company added: “People use our glasses because they’re helpful and help them stay in the moment, from listening to music to live translation or hands-free calls.
“They also provide critical new technology for people who are low-sighted or hard of hearing and limiting how people can use this technology would be a major step backwards.
“Naturally some places shouldn’t be filmed at all and that’s reasonable but rules should be applied consistently.”
We asked readers whether they agreed with the Meta Glasses ban in Wetherspoon pubs, with 88% (3849 people) saying ‘yes’.
Around 9% (410) of people didn’t agree with the ban, while 3% (135) said they weren’t sure.
Wetherspoon also recently banned customers from playing music out loud or taking calls on speaker at its UK pubs.
The company announced the ban back in August, saying sounds from smartphones and tablet computers had become an “increasing problem in recent years”.
In a statement, Wetherspoon said: “Following complaints from customers who are being driven nuts by other people’s videos and amplified phone conversations, Wetherspoon has asked customers to switch their phones to silent or to use earphones.”
Chairman and founder of JD Wetherspoon, Tim Martin, added: “In a world dominated by other people’s music and amplified sound, Wetherspoon pubs are an oasis of tranquillity and contemplation.
“In order to avoid customers being driven chicken jalfrezi by a cacophony of sound, we are kindly asking phone users to pipe down.”
