Online platform for rare trainers to close after 11 years as it enters administration

A popular online marketplace for buying and selling rare trainers is set to close down after falling into administration.

The company connects buyers and sellers of limited-edition and hard-to-find products, with each item verified before delivery.

It serves customers across the UK and Europe and has become a go-to destination for sneaker/trainer collectors and enthusiasts.

Laced set to close after falling into administration

After 11 years in business, Laced Europe Ltd has entered administration and is set to close down.

Terri Mulgrew and Michael Kiely of Quantuma Advisory Limited were appointed as joint administrators on September 22, according to The Gazette.

Records from Companies House also show an “active proposal to strike off” the company.

A notice from the government agency adds: “Unless cause is shown to the contrary, the Company will be struck off the register and dissolved not less than 2 months from the date shown above [September 29, 2026].

“Upon the Company’s dissolution, all property and rights vested in, or held in trust for,m the Company are deemed to be bona vacantia, and will belong to the Crown.”

Despite news of the company falling into administration, the Laced website and app are still active (at the time of writing).

Other UK companies that have closed or entered administration/liquidation in 2026

It has been a tough year for the UK high street, with several retailers entering administration or liquidation and others announcing widespread store closures.

Major high street brands LK Bennett, Claire’s, and Quiz have been forced to close all their remaining stores after falling into administration.

UK fashion retailer Leading Labels is also set to close its remaining 15 stores after falling into liquidation in May.

TG Jones and the British Heart Foundation will also be closing around 150 stores each across the UK.

Wynsors World of Shoes is shutting 17 stores across the UK, with closing down sales already underway at several affected branches.

Wayfairer Travel Limited has also suspended all services “until further notice” as it looks to appoint an administrator.

UK delivery company Yodel is set to be phased out after being acquired by InPost.

Meanwhile, iconic fashion brand Nasty Gal has shut down its website after being sold by Debenhams in a deal worth around £12 million (US$16 million).

It hasn’t all been bad news for the UK high street, with several major brands announcing new store openings for 2026, including Joules, Aldi, M&S, and Superdrug.
