JUBILEE Drive has closed despite the nearby closure on the A449.
Herefordshire Council said the closure needed to to happen urgently because inspections found two sections where the road edge is starting to weaken.
Work will begin on September 14 and run for about four weeks, including weekends.
Contractors will build two stone-filled retaining walls to strengthen and support Jubilee Drive, helping prevent further deterioration.

Resurfacing and other repairs planned for 2027 will also be brought forward while the road is closed.
A spokesperson for Herefordshire Council said: “We had originally hoped to wait until Worcestershire County Council’s current closure of the A449 at British Camp had finished before starting these works.
“However, the condition of Jubilee Drive means we need to act now to prevent the road from deteriorating further.
“We understand that this closure, alongside the existing A449 restrictions, will cause some disruption to journeys in the area and we’d like to thank residents, businesses and visitors for their patience while the work is carried out.”
The council said signs will remind people that local businesses remain open throughout.
