‘Disheartened’ volunteers hope a new sign thrown in a pond by vandals and now restored to its original position will not be attacked again.
The sign in Newtown Green in Worcester (also known as Ronkswood Fields) was thrown in a pond by vandals after only recently being put up by volunteers.
However, the sign was returned to its rightful place by volunteers from Newtown Green Community Group on Saturday, the same group which had installed the direction sign in the first place.

Cllr Elaine Willmore, a Labour councillor for Nunnery, has praised the work of the volunteers and was there to see the sign go back up.
She said: “With a hopeful message that the vast majority of people in our area take pride in and contribute positively to the community. Unfortunately when the actions of a small minority undermine the efforts of others it is frustrating and disheartening, but it is also sad.
“The people responsible are obviously lacking something in their lives and it’s such a shame that they are taking this out on the community they are part of.”
