An ex West Mercia PC would have been sacked for starting a sexual relationship with a victim he met while on duty.
An accelerated misconduct hearing was held for Former police officer Macauley Sergeant on Tuesday (April 14), who faced allegations of discreditable conduct.
On May 7, 2024, Sergeant responded to an incident where he met a woman who had reported she was a victim of harassment or stalking.
Following this incident, Sergeant contacted the victim outside of his duties as a police officer.
This led to him and the victim developing a sexual relationship.

The hearing panel decided that Sergeant would have been dismissed without notice from the force had he not already left the force.
Sergeant was also placed on the College of Police Barred List, which prevents him from working in any policing role.
