Neighbours have spoken out against plans for a new care home, raising concerns about traffic and overdevelopment.
But parish councillors have backed the scheme.
Developer Kori has proposed building a 72-bed care home in Martley Road, Lower Broadheath, on the site of a four-bedroom house.

The scheme would include 32 parking spaces, a café, salon, activity room, and lounge.
Villagers argue the development would worsen traffic problems and place further strain on already stretched local services.
Charlotte Barnfather said the care home would change the nature of the area.

She said: “The proposal would replace a low-intensity residential use with a large-scale, 24-hour institutional facility.
“This would introduce substantial increases in staff movements, visitor traffic, servicing activity, parking demand, lighting, and general operational disturbance.”

Lyndsey Davies raised wider concerns about development in the area and a lack of investment in infrastructure to support growth.
She said: “I am in favour of developing areas, whether it be for housing, nurseries, or care homes but I feel this area has already been developed enough.
“Across the road there are over 900 houses being built which has increased the level of traffic already.
“Not only that, but money is not being invested in local services.
“No more doctors (it is impossible to get an appointment already), schools, roads.
“Surely there are other areas in Worcester where a care home can be built?”

Simon Adams said: “Whilst I recognise the importance of providing additional care facilities, I do not believe this particular proposal is appropriate for this site and I am concerned that the scale of the development would have an unacceptable impact on neighbouring residents and the character of the area.”
Lower Broadheath Parish Council said: “The parish council considers that the proposed care home is a much needed local amenity.
“It is hoped that any necessary amendments can be made to minimise its effect on neighbouring properties.”
Kori has said the proposal, submitted to Malvern Hills District Council, is designed to blend into the “urbanising” context of the area, which is set to see thousands of new homes.
