How two road cleaners caused rush hour chaos – but councils say they’re ‘not ours’

A motorist says two slow ‘council’ road cleaners travelling in opposite directions at the same time caused traffic chaos on a busy road at rush hour – but two councils say they are not their vehicles.

One driver shared this photo of one of the road cleaning vehicles on the A44 Spetchley Road, near Worcester at 5.30pm on Friday. He says another was travelling in the opposite direction, holding up drivers in both directions.

He said: “The council have got road cleaners at 5.30pm on a Friday and they have sent one road cleaner one way and another road cleaner the opposite direction and absolutely gridlocked the whole of Spetchley Road. If God gave these people brains they would be dangerous.”

Mystery surrounds the road cleaners as both Worcester City Council and Worcestershire County Council say are not their vehicles.
