A NON-PROFIT organisation has welcomed a new outdoor dining area.
West Malvern-based organisation ‘Boundless Outdoors’ has marked 13 years of outdoor education by unveiling the huge new addition last weekend (June 27).
The community-driven not-for-profit welcomed the new Mayor of Worcester, Councillor Tor Pingree, to open the new outdoor social and dining space, named ‘The Canopy.’
Created by a local team, the space aims to bring the outside in with natural wood cladding, solar PV panels, large windows to frame the natural woodland that surrounds it.
It has been designed with the community in mind – with opportunities for the space to be hired by community groups, youth organisations, faith groups, weddings and family celebrations, opening up the site to a broader audience throughout the year.
In light of the community-building feel, a commemorative sign was designed by local primary school pupil, Ella Rodgers.
She attended the opening and stood as a fitting reminder of exactly who the centre exists to serve.
In true Boundless nature, instead of cutting a ribbon to open the space, Councillor Tor Pingree, Worcester’s youngest Mayor, pulled a slip-knot rope to commemorate the moment.
Nick Hands, CEO of Boundless Outdoors, said: “This building is so much more than a dining room.
“The Canopy has been designed to sit right within the trees, so that even when children come inside, they never lose that connection to the outdoors.”
Boundless Outdoors was established in 2013, and its success and benefit to the community are undeniable.
They have grown and acquired a second site at Bell Heath in Bromsgrove, investing close to £2 million across the two centres.
In 2025/26, they welcomed 181 schools across its two sites, including 110 from Worcestershire.
