CAMERA crews have been filming a new episode of a hit BBC crime series at a Worcestershire pub.
The Fleece Inn in Bretforton is being used as a filming location as shooting began on Tuesday (July 7) for an episode of the BBC drama Father Brown.
Production for series 14 of the long-running show, which stars Mark Williams as the crime-solving priest, is currently underway across the Cotswolds.
Nigel Smith, landlord of The Fleece Inn, said: “It is great to have our friends at the BBC back at The Fleece Inn.
“They must love the pub as much as our customers.
“We are proud to be a part of the film set and welcoming them back to the pub.”
The National Trust-owned pub, thought to be the oldest in Worcestershire, reopened at 3pm today (Tuesday) after being closed for filming.
The pub has apologised for any inconvenience.
Series 13 of Father Brown aired on BBC One in January, with the broadcaster confirming two further series.
Mr Williams returns in the title role for series 14, alongside Tom Chambers as Inspector Sullivan, Claudie Blakley as Mrs Isabel Sullivan, and John Burton as Sergeant Goodfellow.
Other familiar faces include Nancy Carroll as Lady Felicia, Lex Shrapnel as Father Lazarus, and Kieran Hodgson as Father Lindsey.
Hannah Bristow joins the cast as Rita Flint, Father Brown’s new no-nonsense housekeeper.
Mr Williams said: “We started filming series 14 of Father Brown in the first week of April and while it’s always a wrench to leave my garden at home when it’s just burgeoning, the Cotswold countryside makes up for it.
“If you are not careful you could come over all poetic; but we’ve got 10 shows to make – no time for versifying.
“Cassock on, let the sleuthing begin.”
This series will once again see Father Brown and his team solving crimes in the fictional village of Kembleford, with cases involving magicians, avant-garde artists and even deadly spiders.
A central storyline will feature the return of Father Brown’s dangerous nemesis, Father Lazarus.
