Three Worcester businesses failed to pay employees the minimum wage, it has been revealed.
Worcester Theatres Charitable Trust Ltd, Stanfield Nursing Home Limited, and Modus Agency Ltd owed staff £14,611 between them for underpaying a total of eight workers.
The companies were among more than 650 businesses found to have failed to pay the national minimum wage to employees, according to the Department for Business.
Worcester Theatres Charitable Trust, which operates Huntingdon Hall and Swan Theatre, was found to have underpaid an employee £572.37 between July 2023 and March 2024.
A spokesperson for Worcester Theatres said: “This matter has been resolved and the affected employee was compensated in full.
“Worcester Theatres is committed to ensuring all employees are paid correctly and in accordance with national minimum wage regulations.
Stanfield Nursing Home Limited, were found to have owed £2,260.23 to three workers, for underpayments made between March 2023 and September 2024.
This is an average of £753.41 per employee.
A spokesperson for PH Care Group, which now operates the Stanfield House care home, said the company acquired Stanfield House Nursing Home on November 7, 2025.
Because the minimum wage underpayments took place more than a year before they took over, they were unable to comment on whether the employees had been compensated.
The third business, Modus Agency Limited, failed to pay four of its employees £11,778.49, an average of £2,944.62 each, between May 2020 and October 2022.
According to Companies House, Modus Agency Ltd was dissolved in July.
A statement of affairs showed the company owed creditors more than £141,000 just days before liquidators were appointed in August 2024.
It is not known whether the £11,778 owed was ever paid to the employees.
Several national companies operating in Worcestershire were also revealed to have underpaid staff.
B&Q was found to have underpaid 4,530 workers £456,934.72, the most of any company featured on the list.
Five Guys and Serco were also found to have owed employees £54,642.47 and £36,303.02, respectively.
