Two Worcester pubs offering free pints as part of new World Cup scheme

Two pubs in Worcester are involved in a new scheme for England fans during the FIFA World Cup which will reward loyal fans with free beer.

The Goodrest Tavern, Barker Street, and the Old Greyhound, New Street, will be participating in The ‘Straight Through Crew’ campaign.

Football fans who pre-purchase four identical draught pints will have their fifth served free of charge as part of a matchday stamp card system.

The goal is to cut down queuing time at the bar and give customers, in particular loyal football fans.

A total of 27 pubs across the West Midlands will be participating in the campaign

All 27 establishments involved are part of ‘Proper Pubs’, an arm of Admiral Taverns with more than 200 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales.

England at the 2026 World Cup

All three of England’s World Cup group stage fixture will kick off in the late evening.

The Three Lions opening game against Croatia will kick off at 9pm on Wednesday, June 17.

Six days later, on Tuesday, June 23, England will face Ghana, kicking off once again at 9pm.

Closing out the group stage, England will play Panama, a team they beat 6-1 at the 2018 World Cup, with a slightly later kick-off of 10pm.
