Meet the terrific terrier puppy who needs a new forever home

A ‘beautiful’ pup who loves country walks is searching for a fresh start in a forever home.

Five-month-old Jack Russell Reggie is in the care of Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter (WARS) in Malvern but needs a foster-to-adopt home.

He was brought in after he started having problems with his sibling, known as littermate syndrome.

Reggie needs a calm environment with an owner who is committed to helping him build confidence and develop better social skills.

A spokesman for WARS said: “We are on the lookout for a foster-to-adopt home for our beautiful Jack Russell Terrier pup, Reggie.

“He will need a training-minded home that are happy to put the time and energy into setting him up for success.”

Reggie is best suited to a quieter household with no other dogs, and any children should be aged 12 or older and able to understand basic dog body language.

While he cannot live with another dog, he could potentially live with a confident cat, provided careful introductions are made.

The spokesman said: “Reggie has been a gorgeous boy in his foster home and is a super affectionate and loving companion.

“He loves to curl up on the sofa for a movie night or join you on a trot around the countryside.

“Whoever is lucky enough to adopt Reggie will have a little friend for life.”

WARS is initially seeking a foster placement to offer ongoing behavioural support.

The placement is intended to become a forever home, so only those able to commit long-term are encouraged to apply.

Potential adopters are reminded that taking on a puppy is a commitment for the next 20 years or so, requiring both time and financial investment.

The spokesman said: “Please do fill out an adoption form if you think Reggie could be the one for you.”
