A GLOBAL Mexican restaurant chain is setting its sights on Worcester as part of an expansion that will create 180 jobs across central England.
Zambrero plans to open at least 12 new restaurants across the region as well as the West Midlands, Gloucestershire and Warwickshire within the next three years.
The expansion, creating full and part-time roles, will be led by development agents James Fleck, Michelle Jelfs, and Sarah Preston.
Mr Fleck said: “We’re incredibly excited to join the Zam Fam at such a pivotal stage in the brand’s growth.
“Having worked within the hospitality industry for many years, it is clear to me that Zambrero truly stands out – from its fresh, high-quality Mexican food and modern restaurant design, to its positive culture and clear sense of purpose.”

The company said Redditch and Worcester would be targeted, giving the example of the Kingfisher Shopping Centre in the former location as the type of “high footfall” address being sought initially.
Franchise partners are being invited to join Zambrero, which currently has 14 restaurants in the UK and is Australia’s largest quick-service Mexican food chain.
Other target towns and cities include Birmingham, Coventry, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham and Gloucester.

Mr Fleck also emphasised the company’s humanitarian mission, Plate 4 Plate, which donates a meal to someone in need for every burrito or bowl sold.
To date, Zambrero has donated over 100 million meals in the developing world via its distribution partner, Rise Against Hunger.
“What really inspires us is the Plate 4 Plate initiative, which goes far beyond being a brand differentiator; it’s a mission we feel personally connected to, and we’re proud to be a part of a business that gives back,” Mr Fleck said.
