Second escape room experience opens at historic building

A second escape room experience has opened inside an historic Worcester landmark.

The Servant’s Secret brings an exciting new challenge to The Commandery, following the success of its first escape room, Commandery Quest: The King’s Seal which opened in 2022.

Created by award-winning Imaginarium Design, the new room is based on the traditional escape room experience in which teams tackle a series of puzzles against the clock.

Based in the attic rooms away from the normal visitor route, the escape rooms invite teams to explore The Commandery like never before.

Helen Manning, commandery events officer, said: “It’s been really exciting to work with Katie at Imaginarium Design to bring our second escape room to life.

“She’s created some really unique puzzles.

“We can’t wait for everyone to give it a go, and to welcome back players of the first room for a new challenge.”

Taking on The Servant’s Secret, teams of two to eight players are invited to step into the shoes of the servants of the house in the Victorian era.

The story follows the disappearance of a precious porcelain vase and the mystery has thrown the house into turmoil as accusations fly.

The servants must uncover the culprit before someone is wrongly accused. But are they looking for a fellow servant, or could the villain be the cold, commanding housekeeper, Miss Crow?

Luci, a Commandery Quest game player, said: “It’s hard to beat the location in such a beautiful, atmospheric, historic setting.”

The Commandery is centrally located, close to Worcester’s High Street, riverside. Parking is available opposite in King Street.

The Commandery’s Games Masters are ready to greet teams and help them with their quest.

Bookings are now open for both escape rooms at commandery-quest.co.uk.
