Anticipated dog show to take place on Worcestershire farm

Dog lovers will descend on Lower Norchard Farm in Peopleton for a charity dog show that aims to raise money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and be a welcoming space for all breeds.

The event promises to be both inspiring and entertaining, with organisers welcoming all dogs, from pedigree breeds to crossbreeds.

It will attract dog lovers and supporters from across the region — and even further afield.

Event organiser Lucy Hiam said inclusivity is at the heart of the show.

“I think it is really important to involve everybody within the show world… the dog show community should be a lot more welcoming and that is my aim,” she said.

“I hope people can just all come together as a family, bring their dogs, have the best day out… it is all about building the community.”

The event will take place on May 17, with entries opening at 10am and judging starts at 10.30am

Visitors can expect a packed programme including competitions, pony activities, demonstrations, and opportunities to learn more about the charity’s mission.

In a major boost for the cause, the show will also be filmed for broadcast on Channel 5 and More4, bringing national attention to the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’s life‑changing work.

Miss Hiam, who previously worked at The Dog House in Worcester, was inspired after meeting a client whose hearing dog transformed her daily life.

“She told us how much of a difference the dog makes — the confidence and the self‑esteem it brought back. That really stayed with me,” Miss Hiam said.

The event has also helped shine a spotlight on local businesses through sponsorships and community involvement.

Miss Hiam added: “I’ve had such positive feedback from my sponsors.

“I couldn’t do it without them.”
