PLANS to extend a Worcester home have been approved despite objections from neighbours over loss of light, parking and the size of the development.
The plans for 44 Homestead Avenue will see single-storey extensions built at the front and rear of the semi-detached property.
Three objections were submitted, with concerns including the 5.35-metre projection of the rear extension and its potential impact on neighbouring homes.
Residents said replacing the existing largely glazed conservatory with a solid-walled and solid-roofed extension could lead to loss of daylight and outlook and create a greater sense of enclosure.
Concerns were also raised about parking, as the original plans included an additional ground-floor bedroom.
However, this was removed from the scheme during the application process, meaning the number of bedrooms would not increase.

Worcester City Council planning officers said the rear extension would have a greater visual presence than the conservatory but concluded it would not cause unacceptable harm to neighbours.
They said affected rooms at numbers 42 and 46 had multiple sources of natural light.
The application by Qiang Lin was approved subject to conditions.
