TRAFFIC lights could be installed on the Ketch roundabout – but there is no word on when that might happen.
A highways funding boost means Worcestershire County Council will be looking at a number of projects including putting light on the roundabout south of Worcester.
Highways chief Tom Wells said the council is looking at the impact of traffic flow on the A4440 Southern Link Road, particularly around the Ketch.

“There are a few things we can do,” he told a cabinet meeting on Thursday.
“One option is traffic signals on one or two roundabouts but this would be predicated on increased traffic movement rather than perceived pedestrian safety.”
Councillor Louis Stephen said the Ketch is a “big issue for local residents” and asked how long getting traffic lights installed might take.

He has previously called the Ketch roundabout “dangerous” and started a petition calling for traffic lights to be installed, which has been signed by more than 1,000 people.
Cllr Wells said the work is “not going to happen anytime very soon” but a government response on the council’s proposed spending is expected in November.
Delivery of the highways programme would then take place over three or four years, he said.
