A group of amateur cyclists cycled 300 miles to raise thousands for a cancer charity.
The 20 cyclists made the journey from the Worcestershire Breast Unit to Brest, France, raising £29,000 plus gift aid for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven.
The ride marked the unit and charity’s 10th anniversary.
Steven Thrush, a consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon and trust cancer clinical lead, organised and participated in the challenge.
He said: “We did this to raise money to support breast cancer patients in Worcestershire and commemorate 10 years since the Breast Unit opened.”
The group, which included former breast cancer patient Julie Cross, began the ride on Friday, May 1, with support from professional bike touring company Go Velo.
In the past decade, over 51,000 referrals to Worcestershire county-wide breast health services have been made.
