FORMER bankers who completely changed their careers are expanding their bespoke cabinetry and interior design business.
Husband-and-wife team Shaun and Zoe Perks, owners of No.54 Interiors, are expanding their business with support from a fully funded programme.
The pair, whose business serves Worcestershire, Warwickshire and the Cotswolds, received 10 hours of coaching through Worcestershire County Council’s Enterprising Worcestershire Business Coaching programme.

They were referred by Worcestershire Growth Hub.
The couple said the funded support from Worcestershire County Council has given the company greater structure and direction.
“We had no concept of what was available to us. Having worked in a corporate background before, we’d become so used to doing everything ourselves. Realising it’s okay to take that support was quite a revelation,” said Mrs Perks.
“We’ve worked with consultants before and understand the value they can bring, so to access that level of expertise free of charge was amazing.

“The support was highly tailored and really engaged with our specific business needs.”
Coaching covered business positioning, market profiling, marketing strategy, mission statements and long-term planning. It gave the couple practical tools for the next stage of growth.
Previously, Shaun and Zoe worked in corporate banking before moving into new careers more than a decade ago.
Seven years ago, they joined their skills to establish a company creating high-end, made-to-measure cabinetry shaped around each client’s needs.
Today, the business based in Redditch works directly with homeowners, interior designers, architects and boutique developers. It delivers bespoke kitchens, bedrooms and interior cabinetry across the region.

Councillor Adam Kent said: “Shaun and Zoe are a great example of the ambition and entrepreneurial spirit we have here in Worcestershire. Running and growing a business is incredibly demanding, and sometimes having the right expert advice at the right time can make a real difference.”
The programme is part of Worcestershire County Council’s commitment to business growth.
It helps local companies access expert advice, develop opportunities and build long-term resilience.
