A care home has celebrated a day of laughter and community spirit.
Rashwood Care Home, in Droitwich, hosted its annual summer fete on Saturday, July 4, drawing more than 100 guests to enjoy a day of entertainment, food, and community connection.
The event was officially opened by the Mayor of Droitwich Spa, councillor Sue Brazier.
She said: “It was a real privilege to join the residents, families, and staff for such a lovely occasion.
“Events like this remind us of how important it is to celebrate community, friendship, and the simple pleasures that bring us all together.”
Stalls lined the grounds, offering everything from crafts to homemade jams, while residents mingled with visitors and explored the six acres of landscaped gardens.
Entertainment included a tombola, raffle, and a barbecue prepared by Rashwood’s catering team.

Guests also enjoyed homemade cakes, a knitwear stall run by Anne Shilton, a member of the Rashwood social engagement team who leads the resident knitting club, and art displays from local artist Phil Naish.
Rachel Wilson, general manager at Rashwood, said: “It was a fabulous day for all involved and we are grateful to councillor Sue Brazier for helping us celebrate and to all those from the local community who came along to support and run stalls.
“It was lovely to see everyone enjoying the great atmosphere and meeting new people.”
Support also came from Droitwich Police, Carers & Communities, and Good Day Farm.
Resident Mairi Weston said: “It was an absolute delight to meet the Mayor and see how genuinely interested she was in the stalls, residents, and everything happening at the fête.
“The whole day was filled with laughter, joy, and a wonderful sense of community.
“Everywhere you looked, people were smiling, enjoying the animals, chatting with friends, and making the most of the glorious weather.”
