A law firm has pledged to support a children’s charity through a year-long fundraising campaign.
mfg Solicitors, which has offices in Kidderminster, Bromsgrove, and Worcester, will spend the next 12 months raising funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital after selecting it as its charity of the year through a staff vote.
The firm hopes to raise a “significant sum” through a series of fundraising events.
Tim Lang, employment law partner at mfg Solicitors and head of ESG at the firm, said: “The team at Birmingham Children’s Hospital does an incredible job every single day supporting ill children and their families.
“It’s an amazing charity which never stands still and is always investing in its facilities, technology and services to improve the care and comfort of every child it supports.”
Birmingham Children’s Hospital is a specialist paediatric centre treating more than 100,000 children and young people each year.
Every patient and family benefit from the hospital’s charity, which exists to make a real difference to poorly children during difficult times.
Mr Lang said: “That’s why it means so much to us to be able to support the hospital over the next year by focusing our fundraising efforts on one charity.
“We are aiming to raise a lot of money and have already made a start by holding a successful golf day and our AGM raffle.
“We have a number of events and fundraisers planned over the coming months, including our very popular and now sold-out annual quiz in Birmingham.”
Until now, the firm’s offices have backed separate charities in their communities, but this year marks a shift to a single focus.
Amaan Yasin, corporate partnership officer at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, welcomed the support.
He said: “We aim to provide our children and families with the best treatment and experience we can, but the impact we have relies heavily on our community of supporters to create meaningful change – including donations from local businesses.
