A high street shop known for its extensive rubber duck collection is closing down.
Fifty Scents, a bath, body, and gift shop, will close later this month after what the owner described as a “perfect storm of ongoing challenges.”
In a statement posted on Facebook, the Broad Street store confirmed it will close for good on Saturday, July 25.
The post said: “Well, this isn’t a post I ever thought I would be writing.
“I’ve avoided putting this into words all day because I am absolutely gutted it has come to this—but unfortunately, it has.
“We will be closing our doors completely on Saturday, 25th July, and we will not be reopening. It is a massive shame that it has come to this point.
“No single situation, person, or company is to blame. Instead, it has been a perfect storm of ongoing challenges that have continued to plague us since the leak back in January.”
Fifty Scents opened in April 2025 and quickly became a favourite with shoppers.
The post added: “I want to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to every single customer who has supported us over the last 14 months.
“Your support has meant the world to us.”
