Police respond after claims that man was ‘stabbed’

POLICE have responded after reports that a man had been “stabbed” in Evesham.

Officers have confirmed that they received a report of concern for a man’s welfare in the town on Tuesday (June 9).

When they arrived, they discovered that the man’s injuries had been self-inflicted.

“We are aware of speculation that a man was stabbed in Evesham yesterday,” a spokesperson for Evesham Police said.

“We can confirm that officers responded to a concern for the welfare of a man and on arrival it was discovered the injuries were self-inflicted with no evidence of third-party involvement.

“The man was left in the care of the appropriate health service.”
