Café offering a ‘different coffee experience’ opens

A NEW café in Pershore offering ‘a different experience for coffee’ has been ‘crazy busy’.

Brew and Eat in Pershore officially opened on Broad Street on Friday (May 24), four months after the closure of Sugar Plum Tearooms.

Complete with coffee art, Brew and Eat is using beans from Francini Café de Colombia in Worcester, something not currently on offer in Pershore.

Claire Preece, general manager of Brew and Eat, said: “We opened last Friday (May 24). It’s just a different experience for coffee.

“So, the boss who runs this, I’m the manager, but the boss who owns it, he runs Rolly Polly Eats. So it’s just a different experience for coffee.

“We are very close with Francini in Worcester.

“So we have all of his coffee from his place down in Worcester. It’s all imported in from Colombia. So he grows his own beans in Columbia, roasts them in England, and that’s why we are different to any other coffee shop in Pershore.”

Despite not doing a ‘soft launch’, the café has been crazy busy, according to staff.

She added: “The first week has been crazy busy, it’s been really good.

“I think Darren (Lusted), the boss, I think he was quite casually surprised, shall I say, that it was as good as it was.

“We didn’t even say that we were opening; we didn’t announce it or anything, but we had loads of people coming in on Friday. Then Saturday was crazy. It’s been really good.

“Staff are barista-trained, and we do a lot of coffee art.

“A lot of people are happy with the customer service. We get a lot of compliments about the coffee, the pastries, and the cakes.”

Darren Lusted has been approached for comment numerous times but provided a response.
