AN inquest into the unexplained death of a talented chef who died following a boat fire at a village pub has been postponed.
Ben Hardy, a hard-working chef who was always at his happiest in the kitchen, died after a boat fire at The Anchor Inn in Wyre Piddle on Christmas Day in 2024.
At the time, West Mercia Police described his death as unexplained with early indications being that it was not suspicious.

An inquest into the cause of the 37-year-old’s death was due to take place last Thursday (April 23) but has since been postponed to a date not yet confirmed.
A spokesperson for Worcestershire Coroner’s Court said: “The inquest has been delayed for a date yet to be fixed.”

Mr Hardy had been staying in Worcestershire over the festive period when police were called to the pub on Main Road at 7.32am.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Previously, his sister Kirstie Trower described Mr Hardy as a man who “travelled the country working his dream career” and a lover of music, the coast and cooking.
