A CAFE in Malvern stepped in to help when a homeless centre had to close for refurbishment.
London House Café on Worcester Road in Malvern Link threw open its doors to the homeless to make sure they had somewhere warm to go each morning while the town’s Maggs Day Centre was temporarily closed.
During the closure, people facing homelessness could still access warm meals and members of the Maggs team.
“Providing a warm, welcoming space where our service users could access breakfast and crucial support from our staff has not only helped meet a basic need, but has also offered comfort, dignity and a sense of community during a challenging time,” said Dr Nia Thomas, interim CEO at Maggs.
“For our service users, this simple act has meant far more than just a meal, it has been a reminder that they are seen, valued and supported.”
Rachel, manager of London House Cafe said: “We were really pleased to be able to support Maggs during this time.
“It was important to us that people still had somewhere to go and felt welcomed. It’s been a privilege to be part of something that makes such a real difference in our community.”
