Yoga and mindfulness sessions coming to National Trust properties

People looking to unwind, stretch and reconnect with nature this spring and summer are invited to join a series of yoga and mindfulness sessions at historic locations.

The National Trust is hosting the classes across its Worcestershire properties, including Croome and Hanbury Hall.

The initiative marks the launch of Sanctuary — a new theme at Croome celebrating rest, calm and spaces of refuge, inviting visitors to explore wellbeing through landscape and gentle movement.

Michelle Fullard, general manager for Worcestershire, said: “As part of our exploration of the theme of Sanctuary this year and next, we’re offering weekly yoga sessions at Croome to help visitors pause and reconnect mind, body and spirit.

“Sanctuary invites people to slow down and experience Croome not just as an historic landscape, but as a place to reset and replenish — these sessions provide a different and holistic way, to do just that.”

At Croome, yoga sessions will take place in the Long Gallery from April 14 to June 1, offering the serenity of its historic interiors.

At Hanbury Hall, classes will be held beneath the blossom trees in Kytes Orchard from April 27 to May 25.

The sessions, led by local instructor Emma Blunston, will last 60 minutes and combine gentle yoga, mindfulness, and meditation.

As summer arrives, the classes will move indoors to the historic Orangery in June, July and August, offering a sheltered, light-filled space with views across the formal gardens.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat, water, and comfortable clothing.

The National Trust said: “Whether practising outdoors among blossom or indoors beneath ornate ceilings, these sessions offer restorative ways to connect with nature, history and the National Trust’s wider ambition to support wellbeing.”
