Schools urged to fundraise to feed a whole school for a year

Secondary schools in Worcestershire are being urged to help tackle classroom hunger.

Mary’s Meals, an international charity, is encouraging schools to take part in its Feed A School programme, which provides daily meals for more than three million children every school day across 16 of the world’s poorest countries.

With Mary’s Meals, it costs just 10p a day to provide a child with a school meal. The promise of a nutritious meal attracts children into the classroom, where they can gain an education that can be their ladder out of poverty.

Claire Benjamin, director of supporter engagement for Mary’s Meals UK, said: “Choose to Feed A School and you will make a lasting difference to children, their families and their whole communities.”
