A pub undergoing a £270,000 transformation into a sports bar has applied for a revised licence.
Marston’s PLC has submitted an application to Worcester City Council to amend The Portobello Inn’s operating terms.
The proposed changes involve updating the pub’s internal and external layout, removing historic licence conditions, and adding a condition to restrict access by children after 10pm unless attending a pre-booked function or dining with an adult.

The community pub, located on Bransford Road, temporarily closed for refurbishments and is set to reopen under the new sports bar theme, Grandstand, on November 4.
Residents have until November 3, 2026 to make representations to the Licensing Authority regarding the proposed changes.
