An Evesham restaurant has won Best Restaurant of the Year at the Curry Life Awards 2026.
Evesham Balti won the national title at the 17th annual Curry Life Awards, held at the InterContinental London Park Lane, marking its second win after taking home an award in 2024.
Owner Ansar Miah said: “Our aim is to provide good food and good service to all our customers.
“All staff are my family.”
More than 500 guests attended the October 4 ceremony, which was hosted by BBC presenters Jon Kay and Luxmy Gopal.
The awards celebrate excellence, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the UK curry industry.
A total of 41 honours were given out across categories including Best Restaurant, Best Chef, Editor’s Choice, and Best Takeaway.
Winners were selected through a combination of public votes and a rigorous judging process.
The awards attracted support from MPs nationwide, including Lloyd Hatton MP from Weymouth and Gideon Amos OBE MP from Taunton.
Rushanara Ali, MP for Bethnal Green and Stepney, and Dawn Butler, MP for Brent East, also attended.
Mr Miah, who opened Evesham Balti on Waterside in April 2009, runs the restaurant with a team of six full-time and two part-time staff.
The restaurant serves traditional Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine, offering a wide range of chef and house specials.
A signature dish, Baburchi Wala, combines chicken with onion, peppers, garlic, ginger, boiled egg, and mixed beans.

The restaurant displays photographs of customers on its walls as a tribute to their ongoing support.
One regular described Evesham Balti as offering “Fantastic food, friendly people and always a warm welcome.”
The Curry Life Awards are organised by Curry Life magazine, part of the Curry Life Media Group.
Syed Belal Ahmed, editor of Curry Life, said: “The UK’s curry industry features some of the country’s most inspiring businesspeople and restaurateurs.
“We are delighted to give them a national platform from which to shout about their hard-won achievements so that they can continue to thrive.
“The British Curry Industry has once again done itself proud.”
