IT was all lights, camera, action in Worcester after film crews took over sections of the city’s scenic river footpath to shoot scenes for a new movie.
The River Severn footpath by Worcester Cathedral had actors rehearsing their lines and camera crews capturing shots for a new vampire romance film today (Wednesday).
The film, titled Rose Drake, is set to explore the themes of loss and grief through the sci-fi context of vampires.

“I love it in Worcester and there are so many beautiful locations,” she said.
“I have worked on films in London, Birmingham and Manchester, but never around here.
“I have always wanted to bring a production to Worcester and that has always been one of my main goals.”
The cast of the film features actors like Ben Batt, known for his roles in Shameless, Toxic Town and In The Dark, and Susan Brown, a regular face on the National Theatre stage who has also appeared in Game of Thrones and The Iron Lady.

“Both of the main characters are dealing with grief, like so many of us are, and this film will address how feeling lonely can be very deadly,” Ms Ivanova said.
“Ultimately, though, it will be a message about love and hope.”
The two characters, both facing loneliness, fall in love, and when one is transformed into a vampire, they begin to explore their new life and its meaning.
Staff hope to submit the show for consideration at the 2027 Cannes Film Awards.
It is currently unknown which streaming platform the film will be featured on.
Camera crews will also be seen filming in Broad Street, Pershore, on Monday, April 27.
