A MAN was rushed to hospital after reports of a serious assault at Foregate Street station which resulted in an air ambulance responding.
The casualty was initially transferred by road after an incident at around 8pm last night, with the helicopter spotted over the city around 20 minutes later before landing at Pitchcroft racecourse.
Multiple police and ambulance crews were at the scene outside one of the station entrances, cordoning off a small area by the bike racks.

“No arrests have been made at this stage and enquiries are ongoing.”
Bystanders at the scene said a person had been on the floor and had been taken away by road ambulance, and they believed the casualty might have been transferred to the air ambulance.
Arran McDonald, a passer-by, said: “I saw police and ambulances, and I think there was someone in an ambulance with a police officer handing over what looked like a bag with medicine bottles in it to paramedics.
“A few minutes later I was was walking back down the High Street and I saw the air ambulance fly over. I guess it was for what was happening on Foregate Street, as they had the land air ambulance parked outside.”
By 9pm, the scene had been scaled back to two police cars before the cordon was removed overnight.
