Worcestershire firm gives away beginners’ gardening kits to young people

A charity giveaway is putting gardening kits in the hands of young learners.

Worcester-based Forest Garden is supporting National Children’s Gardening Week, which runs from May 23-31, by donating gardening kits worth £90 to schools and community groups.

The company, which is the UK’s largest manufacturer and distributor of wooden garden products, is offering 16 of its beginner bundles, each containing four raised beds, a bag of compost, and wildflower seeds.

Jenny Davis, head of marketing for Forest Garden, said: “National Children’s Gardening Week is a brilliant opportunity to help children discover the joy of growing, and we’re delighted to be giving local schools free gardening starter kits to help them get stuck in.”

To apply, schools and groups in Worcestershire can email forest.marketing@forestgarden.co.uk.

Successful applicants must collect kits from Forest Hartlebury on either Thursday, May 28, or Thursday, June 4.

Ms Davis added: “Gardening is such a valuable activity for children. It encourages curiosity, patience and responsibility, while also giving them time outdoors and a better understanding of where food comes from.

“We hope these kits will help schools create spaces children can enjoy, learn from and feel proud of for years to come.”
