A yellow electricity helicopter has been spotted circling low over Worcester – and one of the crew even appeared to be waving at people watching from the ground.
The National Grid EC35 helicopter, also known as the Airbus Helicopters H135, has been circling Worcester this morning.
The helicopter with the word electricity emblazoned on the side belongs to the National Grid.
In one photo, taken by Linny Solway, one of the crew on board sticks his hand out of the cockpit and appears to be waving at people below.

The helicopters often hover close to the ground, near buildings or fields, while carrying out routine inspections or emergency post-storm fault-finding missions.

This method is considered more efficient than a ground inspection.
The onboard team consists of skilled pilots and observers who make use of advanced technology, including thermal imaging cameras and LiDAR systems.
