Metalworkers to debut at RHS Malvern Spring Festival

A debut garden collection blending natural inspiration with bold design is set to make a statement at the Three Counties Showground.

Winthill Engineering, a Malvern-based metalwork specialist, will unveil The Malvern Collection at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival 2026, running from May 7-10.

The collection, showcased on Festival Green, is inspired by this year’s theme ‘Roots of the Future’ and fuses ancient natural forms with modern design.

Tom Blakeman, founder and engineering director at Winthill Engineering, said: “We are reputed for our bespoke builds – design-led items which when fabricated work structurally and mechanically, and when required, aesthetically and ergonomically too.

“Often these are private commissions, but we also work with commercial partners, including some of the country’s most prestigious brands and institutions, alongside leading architects, contractors and developers.

“RHS Malvern is a welcome opportunity to showcase our skills and services to discerning and passionate gardeners and garden designers.

“We’ve thoroughly enjoyed creating The Malvern Collection and we can’t wait to see how people respond.”

Hero pieces include The Reverie, made from galvanised mild steel, laser cut with bees, honeycomb and wildflowers with an integrated two-seater wooden swing, and The Duir, made from Corten steel, rolled and laser cut to represent an oak tree.

A squirrel ‘sits’ on the robust timber seat, nestled into the curve of the backrest.

Both are designed to offer a place for reflection and connection with nature.

The display will also include The Sarsen, a monumental Corten steel planter, and a heavy duty oak and steel bench.

Other pieces, such as the Festival Trio of graduated planters and the Malvern Scroll garden bench, a classic steel garden bench reimagined in vibrant Traffic Purple, are designed to celebrate modern gardening.

Visitors to the festival will also have the chance to win a Daylesford Organic hamper.

To enter, attendees are invited to take a photo of or on the display, share it on Instagram or Facebook, tag @winthill / @WinthillEngineering, and follow the company’s page.

The winner will be selected at random no later than Friday, May 15.

Winthill Engineering will be based on Festival Green, accessible from Row 5 and Avenue H, near the bandstand on the showground.

The team will be on site throughout the festival.
