A banking hub is set to become a permanent fixture.
The hub will be based in Pershore Library and is designed to support communities following bank branch closures by offering essential financial services in a shared location.
Operated in partnership with the Post Office, the hub offers regular cash transactions for customers of all major banks and a rotating schedule of community bankers who can assist with more complex banking needs.
Gareth Oakley, chief executive of Cash Access UK, said: “The location at Pershore Library has proved popular and we are delighted to be able to confirm, subject to contracts, we plan to make this its permanent home.
“The expanded hub will play a key role in providing access to cash and banking services to the local community.
“I would like to thank Pershore Town Council and the team at the library for hosting the banking hub.”
The hub, located within Pershore Library, is set to be upgraded into a larger, dedicated space with its own entrance to improve accessibility and the overall customer experience.
Library services will not be affected by the changes.
During construction, the hub will temporarily relocate to an upstairs area within the library to ensure continuous access to banking services.
The current hub operates Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
Bank representatives are also available on a set schedule: NatWest on Monday; Lloyds on Tuesday; HSBC on Wednesday; Barclays on Thursday; and Santander on Friday.
Pershore Town Council said: “Libraries sit at the heart of many communities, so it’s excellent news for local residents that essential cash and banking services will continue to be available in a convenient and familiar location.
“This also represents welcome investment in our vital community services.”
The project is led by Cash Access UK, an organisation established to safeguard cash services across the country.
Cash Access UK will provide ongoing updates on the progress of the hub through its website.
