Company gets behind marathon runner in fundraising efforts

A CITY law firm has backed a county businesswoman by donating a four-figure sum to support her recent London Marathon effort.

Through its charitable foundation, Worcester’s mfg Solicitors has donated £1,000 to the Make-A-Wish UK via Sarah Cutler, a director at Alvechurch’s Eden Properties, who took on the iconic 26-mile race.

The money will contribute towards the total of £3,186 raised by Ms Cutler to help the charity continue to grant life-changing wishes for children who have critical illnesses.

Becky Husband, a senior associate at mfg, said: “We have worked closely with Sarah on a variety of property transactions for well over a decade so were only too happy to support her and the fantastic charity.

“Running a marathon can be a once-in-a-lifetime event for millions of people and Sarah has made it that bit more special by raising funds for a charity that does incredible work to support children and their families.

“We’re delighted that through the mfg Charitable Foundation we could play a small part.”

Ms Cutler said: “I’d like to thank the firm for supporting me and for making such a generous donation to Make-A-Wish.

“It was such a hot day running the marathon but the atmosphere was amazing and really spurred me on.

“Taking part was always a personal goal of mine but being able to do it while raising funds for a charity that does so much for seriously ill children made it even more special.”

Ms Cutler completed the race last month in a time of five hours and 15 minutes.
