New owners promise to build on great work done by trusted kennels and cattery

A dog kennel and cattery remains a valued part of the community, say its new owners.

Strawbyn Dog Kennel and Cattery, based on Hancocks Lane on Castlemorton Common, has been taken over by Green Paws Care Ltd.

Tracey Kalcutt, one of the new owners alongside Davinder Kalcutt, said: “Following the recent change of ownership, we’d like to reassure everyone that Strawbyn remains very much open and is continuing to welcome both existing and new customers.

“We will also be open over Christmas and throughout the year, apart from a two-week annual maintenance window.”

Strawbyn Kennels & Cattery sold after 30 years of business

Ms Kalcutt runs the family business with support from existing team members Lucie Lancet and Alex Finch.

She said: “We’re delighted that the team has remained with the business and is moving forward with us.

“Our connection with Strawbyn began long before we became its owners.

“We were customers ourselves, bringing our own pets, Ned and Missy, here for care.

“We had always wanted to own a kennels, so when Strawbyn became available, we began the long journey that has brought us here today.

“We’re passionate about providing excellent, professional care for every pet entrusted to us.

“Our aim is to build carefully on the great work Jane did before us, making gradual improvements while retaining the care and personal service that customers value.”

The team also has strong ties to the area, having previously served the communities of Leigh Sinton and Welland through local post offices and stores.
