A “much-loved” play area at a National Trust site has closed as part of a major upgrade project.
National Trust Croome will shut the play area from Wednesday, October 14, as part of phase two of Operation Park, Play, Explore.
The wider project aims to improve the visitor experience with a revamped arrival area, conservation work, and a new orchard-themed play space.

A replacement play area is currently planned for installation between January and late spring 2027.
A spokesman for Croome said: “From Wednesday 14 October we’ll be bidding a final farewell to our much-loved play area as we prepare for a new one in the orchard in 2027.”
Despite the closure, Croome will continue to offer seasonal events, including Stranger Folk, autumnal face painting, and its festive programme Once Upon a Time: Croome’s Fairytale Christmas.
