Waitrose customer notice on Jeremy Clarkson’s Guinness rival beer

Hawkstone and Waitrose has issued a customer notice on Jeremy Clarkson’s Guinness rival stout beer.

Mr Clarkson’s Hawkstone brewery has continued to expand its range in recent years, with Hawkstone Black becoming one of its flagship products.

The stout was launched as a darker alternative to the brand’s popular lager and has often been compared to Guinness by fans and reviewers.

Brewed using British ingredients, Hawkstone Black has won awards and has become a key part of the Cotswolds-based brewery’s push into the increasingly competitive stout market.

Now, alongside the regular Hawkstone Premium Lager, shoppers will be able to purchase cans of Hawkstone Black at three major UK supermarkets.

Previously, only the lager was sold, but now the stout has hit the shelves, as announced by Hawkstone via Instagram today (Wednesday, September 30).

A video showing Mr Clarkson and Kaleb Cooper was uploaded alongside a caption which read: “Need a proper stout?

“Our award-winning Hawkstone Black is in the aisles at Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Waitrose. You know what to do.”

In Oxford’s Waitrose store on Botley Road, the new four packs have arrived on shelves, located next to fellow stouts Guinness and BrewDog’s Black Heart.

It is stated that the usual price for the quartet of stout cans is £8.50 but there is currently a deal on the packs with them priced at £7.95 for now.

The Hawkstone line of drinks is produced using British-grown ingredients, with much of the barley sourced from farms in the Cotswolds.
