What we know after car crash closes M5 for more than 7 hours

A MOTORWAY has been closed for more than seven hours – here’s what we know.

The M5 Northbound between Junction 3 and Junction 4 has been closed since midnight following a car crash and fire.

National Highways confirmed that West Midlands Police finished investigating the scene at around 7am this morning (October 7), with recovery on scene.

Posting at 11.51pm last night (October 6), a West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “The M5 Northbound is currently closed between Junction 3 and 4 while emergency services respond to an incident.

“The road is expected to be closed for some time, and drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.”
