MAJOR train disruption is taking place across Worcestershire after a car crashed into a railway line crossing near Worcester.
Emergency services were called to the level crossing on Stocks Lane in Newland, between Worcester and Malvern, at around 10.40am today (September 29).
What do we know so far about the railway line crossing crash?
West Mercia Police said it received a report of a single-vehicle collision on the railway line at Stocks Lane, Newland, at around 10.40am.
A spokesperson said: “We received a call around 10:40am this morning (29 September) with a report of a single vehicle collision on the railway line on Stocks Lane, Newland.

“Officers arrived to assist with traffic management.”
The crash, which took place at the crossing between Worcester Foregate Street and Great Malvern, involved a car colliding with the barriers.
No train was involved in the incident.

A female driver has been treated at the scene of the crash for injuries not believed to be serious and was later taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a single-car road traffic collision on a level crossing on Stocks Lane, Leigh Sinton, at 10.30am today.
“No train was involved.
“One ambulance attended the scene.
“The driver, a woman, was given treatment on scene for injuries not believed to be serious before being conveyed to hospital for further checks.”
Emergency services are no longer at the scene.
Significant disruption on railway
The crash has caused significant disruption on the railway line between Worcester and Malvern.
“A road vehicle colliding with the barriers at a level crossing between Worcester Foregate Street and Malvern Link means that all lines have been closed,” said a spokesperson for National Rail.
“As a result, trains running between Worcester Foregate Street and Hereford may be delayed, cancelled or revised to terminate and start back from alternative stations.”
West Midlands Railway has requested road transportation to operate between Worcester and Hereford while workers try to fix the crossing barrier.
Lines have now reopened between Worcester Foregate Street and Hereford.
But service disruption is expected until 2.30pm.
