A local disability walking football club is set to tackle Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) to raise funds.
Neuro Walking Football Worcestershire, also known as Movers and Shakers FC, is organising the climb on Saturday, October 10.
The club, founded in 2022, is dedicated to encouraging people with neurological conditions, particularly Parkinson’s disease, to remain active.
It has grown significantly since its inception, expanding from four members to over 25, and was named Grassroots Impairment Club of the Year in 2023.
The club’s achievements have made it one of the larger impairment clubs in the country.
Members of the club, along with family and friends, will be participating in the climb to raise funds to support the club’s activities.

A spokesperson for the club said: “We are hoping to raise essential funds to enable us to continue our work at the club, whilst also allowing us to reach more people who could benefit from joining us.”
The club offers a safe space for people affected by neurological conditions to play football and socialise with others facing similar challenges.
It is the only club in the area specifically for individuals with neurological conditions.
The club takes pride in its welcoming environment, where players quickly feel part of a community.
Club member Finlay Clark said: “I have been made to feel so welcome in my short time at the club, and my Wednesday mornings have very quickly become a highlight of my week.”
Another member, Alan Nokes, said: “I feel stronger as soon as I get in the car to go to football.
“The anticipation and feel-good factor kicks in and many others will agree it’s great to be with people who understand your problems because they have them too.”
Neuro Walking Football Worcestershire participates in various tournaments, including the annual Sport Parkinson’s Walking Football Tournament (Cure Parkinson’s Cup) at St George’s Park and the People’s Ford Parkinson’s Tournament Glasgow in Scotland.
The club meets every Wednesday morning at Claines Lane for a walking football session, followed by drinks and a social in the clubhouse.
