Manufacturing company sponsors Peter Rabbit art trail

A Worcester manufacturer has become one of the latest sponsors to back next summer’s Peter Rabbit® art trail.

Southco Manufacturing Ltd, which has backed all three of the city’s public art trails, has signed up to support next summer’s Peter Rabbit® in the Warrens of Worcester.

The trail will see 75 Peter Rabbit® sculptures, both large and small, displayed across the city for eight weeks next year.

Each large sculpture will be auctioned off to raise funds for St Richard’s Hospice, while the smaller rabbits will be returned to the schools and groups that decorated them.

Philip Kempson, managing director at Southco Manufacturing Ltd, said: “We’ve loved being part of the last three trails in the city and the team here is really looking forward to seeing a posse of Peter Rabbit sculptures take over the city next summer.

“It’s also a brilliant opportunity for us to give something back and support the amazing care that St Richard’s continues to provide across Worcestershire.”

Each large sculpture is being funded by companies and individuals from across Worcestershire and beyond, with just a handful of sponsorship opportunities remaining.

Sara Matthews, business development manager at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “It’s wonderful to have our friends from Southco by our sides once again for what promises to be another unforgettable event in the city next summer.

“The Southco team have been part of our art trail story from the very beginning.

“They’ve sponsored sculptures and bought at auction, helping provide much-needed funds for local hospice care.

“That kind of ongoing support is really special and something we are incredibly grateful for.”

The Peter Rabbit® trail is backed by presenting partners Chapel & Friary Walk, Connect Worcestershire, Worcester BID, and Worcestershire Ambassadors.

It is also supported by The World of Peter Rabbit®, managed by Penguin Ventures, the licensing and consumer products division of Penguin Random House Children’s UK.
