Organisations are being invited to help celebrate Positive Ageing Week by sharing stories of older people who inspire their communities.
The week will be marked from September 25 to October 2 in Herefordshire and Worcestershire and aims to highlight the valuable contributions of older adults.
Organisations are encouraged to get involved and share stories that showcase the impact and influence of older generations.
This year’s theme, Connecting Generations, focuses on the way older people’s experiences and knowledge support and inspire younger people.
Stephen Brewster, CEO of Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire, said: “We are delighted to once again be coming together to celebrate Positive Ageing Week.
“Both Herefordshire and Worcestershire have ageing populations, and this week recognises the important contribution older people make to our communities every day.

A collaborative effort between Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire, Age UK North Worcestershire, Age UK Wyvern, Herefordshire Council and Worcestershire County Council, the week aims to challenge stereotypes around ageing while encouraging healthy, active lifestyles.
Organisations and groups can download a toolkit with information, images and social media content from the Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire website to help them take part.
Throughout the week, partners will share stories that highlight the achievements and influence of older people across the region.
Promoting regular movement and activity in later life is also a key focus of the campaign. Staying active supports independence, boosts confidence and improves both physical and mental health.
It also reduces the risk of falls and frailty.
