MCDONALD’S has responded after a rat was caught scurrying about outside a restaurant in Worcestershire.
The fast food company said that hygiene and cleanliness are of the utmost importance after a rat was caught on camera outside McDonald’s in Malvern on August 20.
Video, widely shared on social media, shows a rat crossing the zebra crossing at the drive-thru forMcDonald’s at Three Counties Retail Park.
Someone can then be heard joking that the rat was going into McDonald’s for a Big Mac.
McDonald’s was quick to point out that no rats were seen inside the restaurant, with a spokesperson adding: “Hygiene and cleanliness are of the utmost importance to us.
“We work closely with a pest control company and implement a number of measures to ensure that the high standards of hygiene our customers expect are maintained.”
McDonald’s in Malvern reopened following a month-long closure in May for a full refurbishment.
McDonald’s in Malvern was granted a licence to open 24 hours a day in 2022.
The retail park was built in the mid-1990s.
