A family have lost their home of 20 years and believe their pets have perished after a devastating fire in Stourbridge.
Gina Addis said her dad and step mum, Gordon and Pauline Addis, and sister Jo Egan, had to flee their two semi-detached Farm Cottages on Racecourse Lane after the fire rapidly spread from fields behind the homes.
Gordon and Pauline managed to get their dog, Chester, out of the house, but were unable to reach her sister’s two cats, Hooper and Brody, who they believe have perished.
Daughter Gina Addis said: “The fire spread rapidly from the fields behind and they were lucky to escape with their lives.
“My dad has suffered burns to his arm and neck but has now been released from hospital.
“Both houses have been devastated beyond repair.
“After calling Farm Cottages their home for 20 years, everything is gone – their belongings, their memories and the places they felt safe.
“We also believe that my sister’s two beloved cats have sadly perished, which has added even more heartbreak to an already devastating situation.”
Ms Addis has set up a GoFundMe to help support her family with basic necessities, including clothing and household essentials.

She said: “My dad and step mum are in their 70s and retired. They have worked hard all their and my sister is training to be a nurse, working locally in Hagley serving the elderly community.
“They are kind-hearted people who have always supported others, and now they are facing the overwhelming reality of starting over again from scratch. “They are absolutely devastated and trying to process what has happened. The main thing is they are safe.”
