Thousands gathered to experience a weekend of medieval spectacle and history.
Around 60,000 visitors attended the Battle of Evesham Medieval Festival over the weekend of August 1-3, held on the Crown and Corporation Meadows in Evesham and sponsored by Taylor Wimpey Midlands for the second year running.
The festival is home to Europe’s largest 13th-century battle re-enactment, commemorating the historic Battle of Evesham of 1265, a turning point in England’s political history.
Mick Hurst, founder and director of the festival, said: “Visitors from across the UK, Europe and as far afield as Singapore and the USA travelled to the heart of Evesham to witness a spectacular weekend of medieval mayhem.
“The festival shows just what this town has to offer, with its enthusiasm for heritage and history.
“We have the perfect opportunity with the new developments in and around our town centre to really turn Evesham into a destination – a place to live, thrive and survive.
“We have proved that people will come to our beautiful town as there is so much to see and do.”

More than 1,000 re-enactors and 25 knights on war horses took part in the main re-enactment, supported by over 80 unpaid volunteers and management.
Visitors also enjoyed a grand parade, 150 artisan craft and authentic trade stalls, more than 30 food and drink traders, and entertainment including medieval music and dance performances, a tourney, and a fashion show.
Two large living history camps gave attendees a glimpse into 13th-century life, with demonstrations of wood turning, metalwork, needlework, and medieval cooking.
Taylor Wimpey Midlands, a main sponsor, contributed £1,500 to support the event.
