Fire crews are still tackling hotspots in Stourbridge, and are ‘extinguishing where necessarily’, as ‘exclusion zones’ are put in place due to structurally unsafe buildings in the Quarry Park and Brunswick Gate area.
West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) remains at the scene, with teams deployed across Racecourse Lane, Norton Road, Ounty John Lane, Quarry Park, Brunswick Gate, Melrose Drive and Worcester Lane.
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: “We currently have crews tactically working across several different areas of the site.
“Racecourse Lane: Firefighters are using main jets to monitor and deal with hotspots.
“Norton Road: Firefighters are monitoring hotspots and extinguishing them as necessary.
“Ounty John Lane: Firefighters are working across the area, damping down hotspots.
“Quarry Park and Brunswick Gate: Significant resources continue to monitor both areas.
“Several exclusion zones are in place on both streets due to a number of buildings being structurally unsafe.
“Melrose Drive and Worcester Lane: Firefighters are damping down hotspots.
“There are pockets of smoke emerging from areas across the affected site, and crews are dealing with these as they arise.
“We have been truly taken aback by the community response, kindness and support in the Stourbridge area.”
